Artwork Series: Land and Water
En plein air is a French term meaning in fresh air. It refers to works of art painted outside in the fresh air on location. My husband and I like to fly fish. I always take my paints along and love to paint between the hatches. These works are expressions of the land and the water in the countless areas we have traveled to fish and enjoy the beauty of the area. I like to keep these works simple, trying to capture the essence, the space between the lines. When they are watercolors, I use water from the lakes or rivers where we fish. Somehow I felt this helps to capture the spirit of the place.
